Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii has become a very popular game system because it allows the entire body to get into the action, and exercise is something that used to be lacking with all other game systems.

With the Wii remote controller, a person can play sports and it feels just like the real thing.

Bowling, tennis and golf are only some of the sports options which feel real. The Wii also allows competition between kids, and adults, who are not even in the same house.

In addition, web users can now win a free wii by entering competitions online.

The Nintendo Wii has also been used to help stroke victims regain use of their limbs and increase their recovery time by playing games which the patient enjoys and has fun. Many care homes and physical rehabilitation centers are now using the Wii to encourage patients to move limbs and get exercise.

These centers have discovered that the Wii helps to make the rehabilitation to become fun to do, rather than a chore to do. The patients benefit by a quicker recovery time and increased function sooner than would have been without the use of the Nintendo Wii.

Plantronics Voyager 835 Headset

Plantronics have launched in the UK their first Dual Microphone headset to combat unwanted background noises – the Plantronics Voyager 835 – which is an enhanced noise canceling Bluetooth headset. Phew, what a mouthful.

The Voyager 835 features AudioIQ dual-microphone technology that separates and enhances the voice, which in theory means the sound quality is improved.

Plantronics claim this is their best Bluetooth headset yet at minimising distracting background sounds and Windsmart technology claims to greatly reduce wind noise making it suitable for using in both noisy indoor and outdoor environments. We haven’t managed to get our hands on one yet to prove this as this headset hasn’t yet launched in the UK, but as soon as it does, we’ll test it.

The Voyager 835 is worn over the ear and is supplied with an ear hook. Weighing in at just 12g it’s definitely lightweight and along with its slim line design backs up its claim of all day wearing comfort. Soft, contoured ear tip are said to channel the sound into the ear to provide the wearer with a loud and clear sound. The talk time is around 5 hours.

Sennheiser VMX 100

Sennheiser claim to have combined cutting edge technology with their leading design to produce the highly ‘desirable’ Sennheiser VXM 100 Bluetooth headset. Well, it does look nice.

It features VoiceMax Dual Microphone technology, which in human speak means that two microphones work together to emphasise your voice and also removes unwanted surrounding noises. This helps to produce greater clarity and depth that mimics a face to face conversation.

The Sennheiser VMX 100 is worn over the ear and boasts a truly personalised fit thanks to its 3D ball joint that allows the boom microphone to be position to perfection. Weighing just 17g, the VMX 100 is a good option for mobile phone users. Talk time is around 5 hours.

A really good feature is that the headset automatically powers up and down when you open and close the headset. As is expected these days, the VMX 100 is version 2.0 Bluetooth and as such is guaranteed to work with all current Bluetooth enabled mobile phones and phones with the older 1.1 and 1.2 versions of Bluetooth.

There are two variants of the VMX 100 available to choose from. There is the Titanium model, which is supplied in a fashionable Silver finish and comes complete with a wall charger and a USB charger cable and the 3 in 1 travel kit variant of the VMX 100 has a sleek and stylish Black design and includes the same wall and USB charger but also comes with a car charger and a carry case.

BT Synergy 5100

BT Phones have recently announced the launch of their 2009 Dect Cordless Phones. These include new phones for the following ranges; BT Synergy, BT Stratus, BT Granite and the BT Freestyle. All of which are important to their cordless phone business. We think they’ve done a pretty good job.

BT Synergy 5100

The BT Synergy 5100 is the replacement cordless phone for the BT Synergy 4100 telephone. The features are similar, however the design and styling is a lot different. For example the BT Synergy 5100 handset is far slimmer than its predecessor, and stands a lot more upright in its charger.

BT Synergy 5500

With a built in digital answering machine the BT Synergy 5500 is the direct replacement for the BT Synergy 4500 Dect phone. The BT Synergy 5500 cordless Dect is also basically the same as a BT Synergy 5100, but with an answering machine included.

Motorola T7 Two-Way Radios for Skiing

Motorola T7

Anyone thinking of going skiing soon should read this article on buying two-way radios for skiing.

It mentions the Motorola T7, which is the latest radio in the T range from Motorola. This is the range that includes the ever popular Motorola T5 and T3.

It seems that there is a growing trend for people to take their safety more seriously than ever before. To be honest, I’d never have considered it myself, but at less than £50 for two radios, I’d definitely recommend it, especially for those with kids. These two-way radios are also a great idea to take on holiday, fun for the kids too.

Motorola T7 Specifications

The Motorola T7 has a range of up to 10km, which is more than the Motorola TLKR T3 and TLKR T5 models. One thing that is useful with the TLKR T7 radio is that there is no limit to the number of radios you can have on the same frequency.

As the Motorola T7 radios use the PMR446 frequency, they are licence free. This means that a licence is not required. Also as the T7 are on the PMR446 frequency they will also work with other brands of PMR446 radios.

The Motorola T7 twin pack two way radios are also packed full of useful features such as vibrations alert, LCD display, battery save mode, and channel monitor. You can even name each of the Motorola TLKR T7 radios so you know who is calling you.

Each twin pack of two way radios comes with 2 x Motorola TLKR T7 radios, 2 x rechargeable batteries, 1 x Twin Charger Pod, 2 x Belt Clips, and an instruction manual.
