GPS Sat Nav Reviews

How on earth did we function without an in-car sat nav? I don’t know about you but I can’t remember the last time I used a traditional map, and more importantly, I don’t care to. GPS Satellite Navigation is here to stay.

So, what is GPS and when did GPS arrive? It all started with the US Dept of Defence in the 1970s - 30 satellites flying around the planet twice daily linking to five ground stations. The GPS receiver links your data with map files held within the sat-nav system. A few calculations later and it tells you where you are and more importantly, where to go to get to your destination. Fantastic, a bloke never has to ask for directions ever again!

Like all things technical, you get what you pay for. The better your GPS receiver, the better the 3D fix. Have a look here for an extensive list of GPS Reviews.
