Interquartz Gemini Phones - 9330, 9333, 9335
Build quality is one of the under lying strengths of the Interquartz Gemini range of phones. So much so that they offer a mighty six year warranty.
A fundamental part of this build quality is the durability of the gemini range of phones. Even the entry level Gemini Basic 9330 has double injected dial keys.
The next model in the range is the Gemini Speakerphone 9333 which features hands-free operation. This is becoming an essential element in all office or desk based business phones as it allows users to multi-task (headsets are better for more frequent hands-free users).
Next in the Interquartz Gemini range is the Gemini CLI 9335 which offers message waiting light, hands-free speaker phone, caller display and a 100 name & number directory.
What is VoIP?
VoIP for Beginners
So, What is VoIP? It’s a term you’ve no doubt heard in reference to both the workplace and home and is a technology that is rapidly progressing and growing in popularity. VoIP is an acronymn for Voice over Internet Protocol but is often referred to as IP telephony, internet phone and broadband phone.
It is actually a pretty straighforward concept of making phone calls over the internet. It is a way of bypassing the call charges imposed by traditional telephone service providers offering a genuine cost effective alternative. The basic technology is not new, being first used in the 1970’s by the US department of defence, but over the years has been tweaked and brought right up to date to deal with todays demanding market.
Home Phones & DECT Technology
Gone are the days of Bakelite phones sitting dormant in the hallway. Home phones have come a long way, becoming an extension of your personality, and with rapid advances in technology providing us with practical and labour saving features and functions, they are fast becoming an integral part of our home lives.
DECT cordless phones are allowing people to move freely in their home, unlike with traditional corded phones, everything does not come to a stop because you’re on the phone.
But what is DECT technology?
Technically, the term DECT specifies a means for a portable unit to access a fixed telecoms network. Connection to the fixed network (in other words the phone line) is done through a base station which is technically known as a ‘radio fixed part’ and this terminates a radio link. The cordless handset then talks to the base station through radio wave technology, offering you up to 50 meters of wireless roaming from the base station in typical indoor conditions. Ususally the base station is connected to the Public Switched Telephone Network (or PSTN) however, connectivity to newer technologies such as Voice over IP (VoIP) is now available.
Phones and Headsets
There’s a new kid on the block. Phones and Headsets is a no-nonsense approach to all things related to phones and headsets, no surprises there then!
According to their blurb, they are dedicated to delivering news & info on the latest phone and headset products, including the usual suspects such as wireless headsets, mobile phone headsets, bluetooth headsets, cordless phones & conference phones.
They also have an online shop selling, go on guess, yes that’s right - phones and headsets! Hey, if it works for Ron Seal, it works for me.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing their product updates. Good luck guys.
