Brother 7420 Multifunction Printer

A few weeks ago my printer packed up, well it was 10 years old, and I ended up purchasing a Brother 7420 laser machine to replace it. However, as well as it being a printer, it’s also a fax, copier, and a scanner too.

Yes I like my gadgets, and sometimes I do like to get the best machines because they are the best. This time though the decision to purchase the Brother 7420 printer fax wasn’t because I fancied something hi-tech. Purchasing a multifunction printer made life easier, and saved me money as well - I bought my Brother 7420 from Nicomm for £150 less than the RRP, and at £124.99 (inc vat) it was the cheapest one I could find. Nice!

Cheaper Printing Costs

The trouble with most things these days is that you have to keep paying to keep things running, the cost of running a car for example. Everybody knows that if you drive a lot of miles your best off going for a diesel engine. When it comes to purchasing a printer it is exactly the same, if you buy a cheap inkjet printer it costs a lot of money in ink to run it. The Brother 7420 machine is a laser printer so instead of using expensive ink cartridges it uses a consumable called toner, which is much cheaper and cleaner to run. For example, you can buy an ink cartridge that does 200 copies for £20, or buy the TN2000 toner for the Brother MFC-7420 for £40 and do 2500 copies. So whilst the initial cost is higher, the actual cost per page is much cheaper.
