I like Nokis N82 very much... This is a good phone that really looks like a phone :) . The Nokia 82 was launched in November 2007, and after that there was a lot of hue and cry for this phone. Everybody was wonder struck to find a phone so much reliable and so beautiful in looks. It was launched in two colors- silver and black, of which the black too the major market share.

It is amazing how cheap Flash memory is these days, isn't it? I have my qualms about anything unbranded though as they tend to fail quickly - but then again if they're that cheap to replace then you might not be too worried about that.

To me, with the modularity of most computers these days, the major vendors are usually very similar in terms of offerings. I just make sure, especially when it comes to laptops, that you are going with a major vendor with a good service plan. This ensures that the vendor will still be around in 3 years. Better deals with smaller shops usually end up bad. If your end goal is portability, then a small screen would be optimal. also, i always get a second battery when buying a laptop b/se they invariably go out - and it's nice not having to search around for a new one. but that's your call. memory - i always go for more when i can. also, think about how many sticks the memory will be on.

I bought the Nokia N82 last week. Did you notice that the rated stand-by time is up to 225 hours? That’s crazy eh!

I’ve had it on stand-by since for 9 days - and it hasn’t needed a charge yet.

When I opened up the box the one thing that actually surprised me is that Nokia actually included the Audio/Video TV-out cable in the box. I didn’t have to buy it seperately.

Your spec looks a pretty good one. By the sound of things with your comments on screen size & wireless, you're more into portability than lots of features. In which case - ramp up the network features, and instead of a large battery buy a small one and a spare which you can swap in & out?

As for RAM - the more the better in my view. If it's too expensive & you can use a screwdriver then you can often buy the extra memory from a supplier & install it yourself.
