Bluetooth Headsets
If you’re like me and always seem to get a call on your mobile phone at the most inopportune of times, when you’re driving or at the checkout of the supermarket for example, and don’t have time to stop and drop everything (literally) to chat, then it sounds like you need to free up your hands and simplify your life with a Bluetooth headset.
Bluetooth headsets will work with any mobile phone that is Bluetooth enabled, with some current models having the ability to pair with more than one item, for example, a mobile phone and another Bluetooth enabled device like a laptop. The Plantronics Voyager 510 is a good example of this.
Bluetooth headsets have been a firm favorite with people who spend a great deal of time on the road. The benefits of these hands-free, wireless devices are crucial to staying safe and legal (remember it’s illegal to use a mobile phone whilst driving in the UK).
Not unexpectedly, the number of Bluetooth headsets and Bluetooth enabled mobile phones on the market has exploded, with a multitude of styles and features and varying performance. It’s therefore important to take the time to choose the right headset for you.
Comfort is a major factor, with heavy users possibly wearing their Bluetooth headset all day long. Style and functionality are equally as important and for infrequent users possibly more of a factor than comfort when choosing their perfect headset. You need to ask yourself questions like, how long am I going to be wearing my headset for? Is it secure enough to stay put when I’m walking? Is the talk time long enough for me?
Wearing styles vary across models and manufacturers, with some of my personal favorites in the Plantronics and Jabra GN ranges. From the more traditional over the ear style to state of the art and futuristic gel ear buds, they really do come in every shape and size; you can even get a Bluetooth headset to match the colour of your outfit! Yes, boys do that as well as girls!
One thing’s for sure, Bluetooth is here to stay.
