The Plantronics Explorer 390 is a Bluetooth mobile phone headset aimed at drivers who are looking for good design and sound quality.

The Explorer 390 comes with multiple charging options, to ensure that you can genuinely use it 24/7. You get an AC charger, a car charger and a laptop charger so it doesn’t matter where you are, pretty much, you can always recharge your battery.

Plantronics Explorer 390 Technical Specifications

As with most Bluetooth headsets, a LED indicates battery life but with around 7 hours of talk-time you won’t see the LED that much.

Plantronics have fitted three noise reducing features into the Explorer 390, which are essential for in-car mobile phone headsets or on noisy trains and buses. These features are, Wind Noise Reduction, Transmit Noise Reduction and Echo Reduction. Each works independently of the other but when combined, offer the user superb sound quality. I’ve tried it on the road and it certainly is one of the better in-car headsets we’ve used.

Plantronics have also fitted another technology into the Explorer 390. It is called Packet Loss Concealment which aims to prevent those annoying pops and crackles.

Weighing just 11 grams, the Plantronics Explorer 390 is a lightweight headset and given it’s compact sleek design, I can see this headset being a best seller for Plantronics. It’s one of those headsets that’s easy to wear and possibly one where you’d forget you’re wearing it.
