Plantronics Headsets - Plantronics CS60 v C65 Review
Which Wireless Headset - Plantronics CS60 or C65?
Choosing which wireless headset to purchase for the office can be a really difficult process, even for an experienced user. There are, however, two headsets I’d recommend - the Plantronics CS60 and the Plantronics C65. But what’s the difference?
Well it is all to do with the type of telephone you’re actually going to be using the headset with. The Plantronics C65 headset is designed to work with a cordless phone, so comes with just a charger. With the Plantronics CS60 headset designed to work with a normal corded desk phone, meaning that not only does it have a charger, but a wirless transmitter in its base as well.
Plantronics C65 Wireless Headset
If you have never heard of a Dect telephone, it is a term used for a cordless phone that uses a digital signal instead of an analogue one. Nearly all cordless phones on the market today are Dect, and a feature of these phones is having the ability to add additional cordless handsets. This allows you to locate another wireless phone in a different room, or even give another person access to the same phone line. What the Plantronics C65 headset does is trick the existing cordless telephone system that it is in fact another cordless handset.
To answer a call on the Plantronics C65 wireless headset there is an answer button on the side of the headset. However to make a call you have to dial on a handset, and then transfer it to the headset. It is always worthwhile checking compatibility, but most cordless phones that are GAP compatible should work. If you want a different wearing style the Plantronics C70 and C351N work in just the same way as the C65.
Plantronics CS60 Wireless Office Headset
The Plantronics CS60 wireless headset will connect to any office desk telephone. It connects either through the phones handset socket, or into the telephone headset socket. If you have experience with cabled headsets the CS60 connects in just the same way, however this headset has the benefit of being wireless. To answer or make telephone calls you use the phone the same way as you always have, but instead of using the handset, you talk into the wireless CS60 headset.
Just like corded headsets, the CS60 headset needs the call to be answered by using the controls on the phone. So if you want to answer a call away from the desk wireless, you need to purchase the optional Plantronics HL10 handset lifter. Other headsets that work wirelessly like the CS60, but in a different wearing style, are the Plantronics CS70n, CS351n, and the CS361n. The ‘N’ refers to noise-cancelling technology.
