Sony Vaio P-Series VGN P19WN/Q, P19VN/Q, P11Z Overview

One small, nay tiny, laptop that’s been keenly awaited is the new Sony Vaio P-Series. However, before Sony slap our wrists, this isn’t a laptop according to them. Nor is it a notebook. It’s actually an Ultra Portable PC – this is how an UMPC looked back in 2007. Glad to see things have moved on.

So, now we’ve got that sorted, let me introduce you to the full p-series range:

Sony Vaio P-Series VGN P19WN/Q, P19VN/Q, P11Z Review

The Sony P-Series boast a high HD screen with a mouth-watering resolution of 1600×768. Despite it’s small size, and weight – it’s just 625g – the P-Series still allows for several windows to be open at once due to it’s wide aspect ratio.

Sony realise that this isn’t for gamers and as such haven’t really bothered too much to impress on the graphics card, which is fair enough.

On tests, the battery lasts around 3 hours, which given it’s size and low weight is pretty impressive. If this isn’t enough for you, just buy a spare battery. What was also impressive when tested, was the keyboard. Again, despite it’s small size, the keyboard was actually a joy to use.

As you can probably begin to tell, Sony haven’t compromised on the things that matter with this laptop due to it’s size. We think they’ve done a pretty good job, nay brilliant job. Nice one Sony.
