BT Mango Phone

With so many different cordless phones on the market, many cordless phone manufacturers try to stand out with garish colours, and funky designs. This has led to some really bizarre looking phones, like this BT Mango.

Thankfully, the new BT Stratus 1500 is a very sleek and stylish looking cordless phone, and would suit even the most sophisticated of rooms.

See the image of the BT Stratus 1500 below.

What is a DECT Cordless Phone?

Well Dect actually stands for Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telephone and refers the signal sent to the cordless handset. This means that the BT Stratus 1500 has digital quality sound that gives excellent clarity, security, as well as range.

BT Stratus 1500 Review

Built into the BT Stratus 1500 is a digital answering machine to answer any missed calls. It has up to 12 minutes of recording time and is very simple to use as all the controls are on the base of the Stratus. There is also a very handy feature called remote access, this allows you to ring the phone and retrieve your messages when you’re out and about. So you know when a message has been left on the answering machine there is a message waiting indicator, and this also indicates how many messages there are as well.

It is also possible to register additional handsets to the BT Stratus 1500 and locate them in other rooms away from the main phone. Once registered all of the Stratus handsets will ring on an incoming call, and even have the ability to call each other internally and transfer the call between them.

The extra Stratus handsets don’t need to be plugged into a telephone line as they pick up the Dect signal remotely. When supplied each additional BT Stratus handset also has its own drop in charger to sit in. To save on cost the BT Stratus 1500, extra handsets are sold in multi packs with the extra handsets included.

As the BT Stratus 1500 is one of BT’s top of the range Dect phones it is also packed full of useful features. It has a 100 name and number phone book to store all your contacts for quick dialing, and a large backlit display to be able to read them easily. If the Stratus 1500 is on a phone line with caller display activated it will show the incoming number, and also the name as well if it is in the phone book.

At the back of the handset is also a speaker so you can hold a conversation handsfree. This is also a useful feature if you are ever stuck in one of those annoying call queuing systems some companies use.

Overall the BT Stratus 1500 is not just a phone that looks good, but it also performs at the highest level as well.

The cheapest BT Stratus 1500 we could find is available from Nicomm.

I bought the 3 phone deal with answer machine at tesco about 3 months ago. Already one doesn’t work as the batteries won’t charge, the incoming sound is very quiet on the hands free, and not as loud as one would like when trying to chat, not impressed to be honest!

We bought this phone a few weeks ago and it has been excellent. No problems with the phone at all. The only issue we have is BT including cheap batteries that need re-charging often, but by simply replacing them the problem is solved.
