DECTsys 2200 Wireless Phone System Starter Kit

The problem with most telephone systems is not just that the equipment is very expensive but also installation can be just as expensive again. To combat this a company called DECTsys have come up with a brilliant solution called the DECTsys 2200 Cordless 2 Line Telephone System.

As the DECTsys 2200 is a completely cordless telephone system there is no need for expensive cabling and engineers time. To install you simply plug the DECTsys 2200 2 line cordless system into a power socket and then into the telephone lines, just like a normal cordless phone.

In total you can add up to 15 extension telephones on the DECTsys 2200 - the DECTsys 2200 starter kit actually comes with 2 cordless handsets. Each telephone on the DECTsys 2200 system then has the ability to pick up calls on both lines, make internal calls to other DECTsys handsets, and transfer a call to another DECTsys phone on the system.

There are two types of DECTsys telephones available for the DECTsys 2200 that can be purchased as and when you need the extra phones:

  • DECTsys 2200 Cordless Additional Handset and Charger - This is a DECTsys 2200 walkabout handheld telephone that is exactly the same as the DECTsys handset that come with the starter kit.
  • DECTsys 2200 DeskDect Corded Telephone - This is a DECTsys cordless telephone that is designed just like a normal desk office phone with a handset and curly cord. Even though it is designed to sit on a desk the DECTsys 2200 DESKDect is a cordless phone and does not need to be connected to the phone line.

The range of the DECTsys 2200 is around 50m indoors but this can be expanded with the DECTsys 2200 repeater. This DECTsys range repeater works by picking up the DECT signal and sending it on again, however only the walk around DECTsys 2200 handsets will work in this expanded range.

The DECTsys 2200 is a very simple to set up and use cordless 2 line system and comparing the cost to other traditional corded phone systems great value for money as well.

    So does this have a 2 lines in, then each hand set can hold ? calls and internal calls are they shown seperate?

    Yes, it does have 2 lines in and so each handset can hold 2 calls as you have 2 lines.

    External and internal calls are identified seperately by different ring tones, and if you have caller-display activated, external calls are identified as L1 (for line one) and L2 (for line two). Internal calls are identified on the caller-display by the line extension ID.
